Properly caring for your Ford tires can keep you safe on the road and saves you money. At Hall Ford Newport News, we're accustomed to helping drivers answer all their tire-related questions. If you have some of your own, they might be answered right here in our tire FAQ!

What Do I Do When the Tire Pressure Light Comes On?

If your tire pressure light turns on and stays on, that means that one or more of your tires isn't inflated properly. You should pull over as soon as you can. Use your tire pressure gauge to evaluate all four tires and find a place to fill up with air if needed.

What Type of Tires Should I Buy for My Ford Vehicle?

There are many types of tires available for your Ford car, truck, or SUV. We can help you find tires from different brands, like Michelin or Hankook. We can also help you find winter tires, all-terrain tires, and other types of tires that suit your vehicle and what you plan to do with it.

When Do I Need to Replace My Tires?

Your tires need to be replaced when they are worn down too much to offer the traction that you need. The best indicator of this is the tread depth on each tire. When it's too shallow (when the depth reaches 2/32"), you need new tires.

To test this, you can place a penny upside-down in one of your tires. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, that tread is too shallow and you need new tires.

Should I Service My Tires for the Winter?

The winter means snow, ice, and slippery roads. Your tires can help keep you safer on the road through all of these conditions, but only if they are in good shape! Schedule an appointment at our Ford service center every fall to make sure that your tires are ready for the winter.
