2020 Ford Escape: What’s New?

The 2020 Ford Escape is brand new for the model year. What does that mean exactly?

First, the interior and exterior of the Ford Escape have been revised. If you’re a fan of this SUV, you’ll notice that it now looks much sportier than prior versions. The sporty look is matched by an all-new powertrain: a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine that puts out 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. This output exceeds the base engine in the prior model: it’s both higher in horsepower and torque. Along with increased performance power, this new standard engine promises to offer more efficiency for daily driving. Since it features start-stop technology, you can expect greater fuel economy in stop-and-go city driving.

Aside from power and design changes, the 2020 Ford Escape is also improved when it comes to technology features. If you step up from the base trim, you’ll enjoy a standard eight-inch display along with the intuitive SYNC® 3 interface with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integration. All 2020 Ford Escape models also come with Ford Co-Pilot360 advanced driver aids. This bundle includes assets like lane-keep assistance to keep you safe in your respective lane and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert to stay aware of items and vehicles in your blind spots.

Configuring Your Ford Escape

There are multiple trims and other engines in the mix, including the turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost option that puts out 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque and the return of a hybrid model.

If you’d like to explore all the options, bring the whole family along to test drive this redesigned SUV at our Newport News, VA, Ford dealership.
