2019 Ford Fusion Debuts Updated Safety Tech

It's hard to believe, but it's already been five years since the Ford Fusion last was redesigned, and if you recall, that was a reconfiguration that earned a lot of praise for the brand. The Ford Fusion immediately was thrust into the conversation as one of the best sedans in the industry.

Since all that time has passed, however, Ford engineers have been working on another generational upgrade, and we recently were provided with the details of that update through an announcement from the automaker late last month. The 2019 Ford Fusion sedan and 2019 Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid both are due for some big aesthetic and technological changes, including the first instance of Ford Co-Pilot360 advanced safety features appearing as standard features on a Ford model.

"People tell us they are stressed with crowded roads and more distracted drivers and pedestrians. Our Ford Co-Pilot360 with standard automatic emergency braking and other technologies can help them drive more confidently so they can enjoy the journey," said Corey Holter, Ford car group marketing manager. "For our green-minded customers, we've amped up our Ford Fusion Energi with a projected increase of nearly 20 percent electric-only driving range."

That Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of safety features is impressive, as it includes the types of technologies that keep drivers and passengers safe even when human error steps in and plays a part. Lane keeping assistance, frontal collision avoidance, and blind spot monitoring are just a few of the features that Hampton, VA customers are so excited about here at Hall Ford Newport News.

These models won't release until later in the year, so for now come check out our impressive 2018 Ford models and know that the future remains bright for the longest-standing American auto brand in existence.
